Tip/IdeaKeep Cookies Fresh (As Long As You Can)
After all the sweat and tears, throwing them into the garbage is the last thing you want to do. Here is an awesome tip I learned from my co-worker’s wife last year. On top of the cookies, put a piece of parchment or wax paper. Then, add a piece of stale bread end on top (usually the piece that nobody wants to eat). Close the lid and leave the cookies in the container as usual. If anybody wants to have some, open the lid and get a few and close it again. The point is that the piece of stale bread being there doesn't change your activities with the cookies. It only keeps the cookies fresh. Crusty bread ends work best. If it is a regular loaf of sliced bread you always buy in the grocery stores, it is too moist. It can easily cause mold. When that is the only choice you have on hand, just use half of that slice of bread. If cookies are consumed slower than expected, it means they stay in the storage longer. This rarely happens. But it does happen sometimes. In this case, you may need to replace that piece of bread after about 1 week.
