Tip/Idea

Power of Raw Honey

Have you ever experienced cold sore on your lip before? It is ugly and very difficult to heal. I have been using the little tube of over-the-counter medicine which costs $20 from the pharmacy. But I found that the symptoms come back very often.

One day, inspired by my husband, I used a toothpick to apply a tiny drop of raw honey on the affected area. I was pleasantly amazed how it healed so well. So, try that next time.

Another well-known use of honey is to mix it with hot water and lemon juice. It works very well with sored throat and symptoms from allergy when season changes.

That little drop of raw honey on a toothpick was all I needed on my cold sore last time. Isn't that amazing?

Hong Kong Way of Using Honey

As many of you knew that I came from Hong Kong. The most popular way of using honey over there is barbecue, such as the famous Chinese roast pork.

During Hong Kong winter, families love to go to the beaches to BBQ. Almost every food coming off from the fire will finish off with honey.

(Side note: Hong Kong winter is very cool. Average temperature is around 15-20 degree Celsius. That is about 50-60 degree Fahrenheit.)
