Pineapple smoothie recipe without yogurt is a lactose free drink. All it takes is 3 ingredients and 5 minutes. A drink to bring along for a road trip or a special treat to end a hot, sweaty day.

You always hear people say, "Fruit is frozen during its season."  Well, not entirely true.

After making many different fruit smoothies with frozen fruit, I find that every batch is different even it is the same kind of fruit.

Brand Matters

I came across a few batches were not even ripe. But when it comes to pineapple, it has that after taste if it is not ripe. Some people have some funny reactions, such as having a weird coating on your tongue or feeling your whole mouth itching crazily that you want to put your hand in to scratch it.

So, here is a tip for attention to the brand you buy. Each brand has its consistency when it comes to quality. After a while, you will find out their pattern which will become your advantages. A well known brand is not a guarantee.
However, if you come across a batch like I described earlier when making this pineapple smoothie recipe without yogurt, what would you do? Throw it away? Add more sugar?

Here is my recommendation for you...add a pinch of salt. I mean just a tiny pinch. A little bit goes a long way. It will get rid of that after taste when the pineapple is not ripe enough. Use this method with fresh pineapple and kiwi, too.

Once it is all mixed, add more sugar if necessary.

Pineapple Smoothie Recipe without Yogurt Ingredients and Directions

6 ounces Frozen Pineapple Chunks
1/4 cup diced Seedless Cucumber
1 cup Cold Water or Pineapple Juice (This is personal preference.  I think that cold water is perfect.  My husband thought that it makes the smoothie tastes like pineapple flavored water.  So, he used the pineapple juice.  If you are going to use juice, try your best to stick to the 100% juice.)
A pinch of salt (if needed)
Sugar to taste (if needed)

Combine the ingredients by following the order listed on ingredients. 

(I use the blend-and-go blender for this recipe.  Please feel free to increase the quantity as needed.   If you use regular blender, reverse the order of the ingredients going into the blender.)
